The History of the Ages – Lesson 89

The following lessons will deal with the most important series of events in the history of the ages, the birth, ministry and death of Jesus Christ; and they will be inserted following Lesson 21 that deals with this present age we’re now living in – commonly called the age of grace. This lesson will simply list 60 Old Testament prophecies concerning Christ with their New Testament fulfillment and are divided into those three categories listed above. I do this simply to illustrate again how the Son of God arranged the ages of time and then proceeded to carry them out exactly as planned. It is worth noting here that these prophecies were all made at least 400 years (some much longer than that) before their fulfillment.

“But in these last days He has spoken to us through His Son, Whom He appointed heir of all things and through Whom He arranged in order the ages of time.” (Hebrews 1:2, where aion is incorrectly translated “worlds” in most versions, but should be “ages of time”)

“By faith we understand that the ages of time (aion, again) were placed in order by the word of God, so what we see unfolding before us was not caused by things that are visible (but in fact are a result of the actions of an unseen God)”. (Hebrews 11:3)
